3 Easy Pre-Production Tips
1. Outline a Strategy
List out your goals, then make a strategy on how you plan to hit those goals. What part will each video play in the process? Some videos are created to reach new audiences on Facebook or LinkedIn, other videos are designed to make sales on your website. All videos should be engaging and consistent with your brand. Think about how you will promote your video content after it’s created. It may change the content of your video. Are you planning to use it as a paid advertisement? Keep it short, sweet, and to the point. Is the video on your website one step before making a sale? Your audience will have more questions and want more information.
2. Keep it Simple
Messaging is the most important part of every video. If your message does not get across, your video did not do its job. Watch out for boring or confusing videos, they will be quickly turned off. The best thing you can do is keep your messaging clear and organized. Have a few main points, and that’s it. If you have a ton of information to cover, consider creating a series of videos that breaks the information down into logical sections.
3. Inform, Entertain or Grip their Emotions
Successful video marketing or sales campaigns attempt to connect with viewers in one of these three ways. People watch videos to increase their knowledge, entertain themselves, or to experience emotions. Identify how you would like to connect with your audience. (Or better yet, do all three!)
